WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF YOUR TOOTH IS BROKEN

  • Give us a call to book an appointment.
  • Take acetaminophen if you are experiencing pain.
  • Rinse your mouth out with a solution of saltwater (this will disinfect the area).
  • Use an ice pack to reduce any swelling.
  • If your tooth now has a sharp edge, try placing chewed sugarless gum on the tooth to cover the edge.

OUR TOOTH REPLACEMENT SOLUTIONS

There are many options available, depending on the location and severity of the damage.

  • Small Chips: If it is a small chip, we will generally do a filling.
  • Breaks: If it is a larger break, or is visible when you smile, we will recommend a veneer, inlay or onlay. These procedures will allow us to recreate larger sections of your tooth, creating a natural look.
  • If you have a large amount of damage to the tooth (such as when the break is caused by untreated decay or fracture) we may need to file the tooth down and install a crown, or extract the tooth and replace it with a bridge or implant

A small chip can become a large break very quickly, so it is important to call us and book an appointment right after the damage happens.
